Product Description
Trebuchets are siege engines that were employed in the Middle Ages. They were used to fling large objects into enemy fortifications. Occasionally disease-infected corpses were flung into cities to infect and scare - a medieval form of biological warfare.
Our model uses a counterweight to propel the projectile. Students will love hurling mallows and jelly babies around the room while learning more about forces & projectiles.
Our in-house developed Trebuchet kit has to be glued together from thick pre-cut cardboard parts and the assembly is a fun educational project in itself. Students can be challenged to increase their accuracy and distance.
Included: Cardboard parts, axle and bearings, string and pouch, release washer, counterweight and trigger mechanism. Complete instructions.
A copy of the Instructions can be downloaded below.
Required: Wood glue, pliers, ruler & projectiles
Teach: Projectile motion, forces, levers
Age: 10+ (Not for younger students due to complexity of cardboard assembly)
