Product Description
Scare off howling dogs or grab your students’ attention instantly. This amazingly simple demonstration will bring to life complex concepts such as resonance and natural frequency of vibration!
Hold the rod in the middle with one hand, apply violin rosin powder (included) to the thumb and forefinger of the other hand and slide your fingers repeatedly along the rod. Your fingers will stick and slide across the rod causing the rod to vibrate and resonate at a high pitch.
Excellent for discussing nodes, anti-nodes and frequency and students can calculate the wavelength of the generated sound wave as a classroom activity.
Included: Two aluminium rods of 660 & 725 mm lengths (diameter of 12 mm), a bag of rosin, Prof Bunsen’s classroom notes
Additional rosin can be ordered separately. However, one bag should last a long long time.
