Product Description
The radiometer, also known as a light windmill consists of a glass bowl under partial vacuum. The thinned air resists the vane movement but is also instrumental in providing the motion. The black surfaces on the vanes absorb more light energy compared to the reflective surfaces, increasing their thermal energy. Air molecules in close proximity to the black surfaces gain more kinetic energy and momentum and speed off, recoiling the vanes.
