Pop Pop Boat

Product Description

This is another classic science item and one of the simplest steam engines around.  Use a dropper to fill one of the boat’s exhaust tubes with water until the water comes out the other tube. Float the boat in water, place the candle on the tray, light, and watch her go!

Invented in the 1920’s, these toys can be used to teach many scientific principles. The candle flame or a few drops of cooking oil will make the 13 cm boat chug along for hours.  Fascinating to watch in a circular tray filled with water. 

It is great for demonstrating the transformation of chemical energy to mechanical energy.
