Product Description
Persicopes provide observation from a concealed position. In its simplest form it has two mirrors set parallel to each other at a 45 angle.
During WWI simple mirror periscopes were used to view over the top of trenches to escape accurate sniper fire. The first use was documented at Gallipoli!
Our periscope is made in Italy from strong ABS plastics and is only available in yellow.
Size: 21 cm folded, but 40 cm when the lockable telescopic body is extended.
Teach: light reflection, image formation, light ray diagrams
Teaching tip: When one looks through the periscope straight ahead, the image appears upright. But, when you look over your shoulder, the image turns upside-down! Students may use a light ray diagram to figure out why this happens.
