What is a Segway HT?
The Segway® Human Transporter (HT) is a futuristic vehicle that provides an unusual riding experience to the user, unlike anything experienced before. It has a highly sophisticated dynamic balancing system utilizing gyroscopes and a number of electronic processors.
When Dean Kamen, the Segway inventor, unveiled the Segway, he described the machine as "the world's first self-balancing human transporter." Unlike a car, the Segway only has two wheels, it looks something like an ordinary hand trolley, yet it manages to stay upright by itself. The Segway HT intuitively balances the way humans do — moving forward and backward, responding to changes in your body's position. There is no accelerator and no brakes. Lean forward and you move forward. Straighten up and you stop. Lean back, and you move back. To turn, rotate the steering grip under your wrist in either direction. It truly is as simple as that.
