These newly patented oil based candles produce five bright flame colours and burn for 7 minutes - a bit longer than is needed for singing "Happy Birthday".  

 

Can be used in the physics lab so students can view the characteristic flame emission spectra associated with different flame colours. To do this one would need diffraction grating film or single axis rainbow glasses.
