Billabong Bugs are Aussie Natives of the dry interior known as Triops australiensis. They are truly prehistoric and have the capability of “suspended animation” – they store themselves like seeds until the right conditions arrive, and then they’ll hatch. They’ll hatch within 12 hours and will grow up to 9 mm in 2 to 3 weeks with each developing three eyes!
